XBOX Media Center - Upgraded Xbox running XBMC media player engine

Once modified the XBOX 1 Makes a fantastic fully featured Media Gateway unit for your home that is not only able to play games but play DIVX, XVID, Movies , internet radio & tell you the weather. It is not necessary to transfer your movies or AVI files to your XBOX, simply plug the Xbox into your home network and STREAM your movies seamlessly and play them on your TV or Plasma screen. The XBOX can support up to resolutions of 1080i with a component cable. Note that the Xbox does NOT have enough CPU power to decode Matroski MKV files of 720P or higher but it is perfectly to suited to play high quality divX and XVID and TV AVI files.

The XBOX skin that I install resemebles that of the XBOX 360 (prior to NXE) and is extremely easy to navigate, note that many other skins are available.

Of course the Xbox also remains gaming box and can also play games directly off the Hard disk drive which can be up to 1 T byte split into two 500gig paritions in Size.

The Xbox on top of these features have a substantial set of emulators available allowing it to run all your old favorite MAME Roms such as Galaxian, space invaders, even battlesone and Defender.

If you already own a old xbox gathering dust then breath it a frsh breath and convert it to a full featured media player. The cost of fll conversion is a low cost $80 and its performance rivals media players costing hundreds of dollars.
